Charny Karpousis Altieri & Donoian, P.A., a boutique South Jersey firm concentrating in divorce and family law, announces partner Rebecca A. Berger, Esq. has been appointed to the RVN Television (RVN) Board of Directors. The current host of RVN’s Justice for All has been a member of the network team since February 2020 and now expands her role as a member of the newly formed board, which will spearhead the company’s growth in the years to come. Ms. Berger will continue her role hosting the half hour series that covers the law from the eyes of South Jersey and Philadelphia professionals who practice it. The popular weekly program is a one-on-one discussion that does more than humanize the legal profession but create a greater awareness of the law with those outside the industry. What began as a guest list of attorneys from varying practice areas, the breadth of interviewees has expanded to include thought-leaders in related areas, which furthers Ms. Berger’s goal to provide a well-rounded program that appeals to an ever greater audience.
A practicing family law attorney and former prosecutor, as host Ms. Berger draws on her own experiences and challenges guests to discuss how their life choices shaped their professional approach and client advocacy. Now she sets her sights on helping transform the unique media outlet. “When I was asked to be part of the newly formed RVN board, I was more than honored,” said Ms. Berger, who has been a board member with the Center For Family Services and The Salvation Army Kroc Center since 2017. “I look forward to working with my peers as we further the network’s identity and shape its future.”
Rebecca A. Berger has been practicing law for 15 years and represents clients in divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence and municipal court matters. Prior to joining the firm in May 2015, Ms. Berger worked as an Assistant Burlington County Prosecutor for seven years, handling a myriad of criminal cases on behalf of the State of New Jersey. During her four years in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office, Ms. Berger trained law enforcement officers in the investigation and prevention of domestic violence. She is a member of the state and local bar associations and is Co-Chair of the Burlington County Bar Association – Family Part Section. In November 2019, Ms. Berger was appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court State Domestic Violence Working Group (SDVWG) ~ a group responsible for resolving the systemic issues facing the courts in the area of domestic violence. A former member of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Domestic Violence Unit, she has expertise in this area and advocates in such matters of abuse. Admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Ms. Berger is an active member of the professional community and a sought after speaker at seminars on domestic violence and other family law matters.
