Practicing Divorce & Family Law in New Jersey

Mitchell L. Mullen joined Charny, Karpousis, Altieri & Donoian, P.A. in January 2025 as of counsel with his primary focus on family law, an area that has been his concentration for nearly 40 years. As a certified matrimonial law attorney, he handles matters of divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, domestic violence, step-parent adoption and guardianships. This includes interstate and international custody disputes as well as divorces involving complex business interests and closed corporations. Although a smaller area of his work, Mr. Mullen does manage cases involving residential real estate and represents landlords with tenant-related issues.

For the past two decades, Mr. Mullen maintained his own practices, initially Mullen & Reagan, LLC founded in 2003 and eventually Mullen law ln 2014. Prior to venturing out on his own, he was with Garber, Kasten, Jarve & Mullen, P.A. starting as an associate concentrating in family law and becoming a partner in 1995 focused exclusively on family law. Mr. Mullen spent his first two years after law school as a criminal attorney and associate with the Law Office of Jeffrey Evan Gold. He is certified by the Supreme Court of N.J. 1995 as a Matrimonial Law Attorney.

Dating back to his days in law school, the graduate of Rutgers School of Law-Camden has been an active member of the legal profession. Mr. Mullen is a member of the Burlington, Camden and New Jersey Bar Associations as well as both the American and New Jersey Associations of Justice. A strong proponent of mediation versus litigation, he is an MESP panelist for Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties, court-appointed mediator and part of the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group.

Mr. Mullen’s commitment to giving back extends beyond his professional affiliations and pro bona activities with his regular support of various organizations, including Joseph’s House in Camden, Urban Promise and Habitat for Humanity-to name a few. Originally from the New York area, he has lived and become a mainstay in South Jersey since finishing school. Mr. Mullen is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his kids and young grandson and exercising. When down time permits, the self-proclaimed wine-snob is often reading, watching movies or relaxing at the Jersey Shore.
